Welcome to Community Spotlight! Each week we introduce a different member or mentor in our community to celebrate their work, visions and achievements here at Spacecubed and FLUX.
This week's candidate is Dom Del Borrello, one of our Muru-D mentors providing guidance to the participants of our Plus Eight accelerator program. Dom specialises in commercial, debt/equity capital raising, stakeholder management, governance and risk management, and aims to share his experience and knowledge to help the start-up entrepreneur grow and succeed.
Tell us about your business experience, and how it lead to who you are now. I have over twenty-five years commercial experience with large to small listed and unlisted companies. I have worked extensively across a range of industries within Australia and Internationally typically in senior commercial leadership roles including CFO, Treasurer, GM - Corporate Finance in businesses undergoing growth, change and new strategic initiatives. I have and continue to work closely with boards and leadership teams in achieving strategic and change outcomes.
My vision is to make a difference through experience and insight to leadership and management teams in achieving their outcomes. I value Growth, Integrity, Learning, Understanding. I believe in fostering long-term relationships, having a “can do attitude”, growth mindset, ethical mindset (do the right thing), perspective (walk in their shoes), self-awareness and giving back.
Who are you looking to connect with and what areas of expertise can you assist our members with? I'd like to connect with CEO’s, Boards and leadership teams, and can assist in the areas ofcommercial, debt/equity capital raising, stakeholder management, governance and risk management.
What do you hope to achieve through mentoring, what is your vision for startups specifically? “Experience never grows old”. I hope that through mentoring I can share my experience and knowledge to help the start-up entrepreneur to grow and succeed.
What do you love most about the Spacecubed/FLUX community? The buzz of activity and enthusiasm, and the constant learning in the eco-system (both in-house and from external presenters)
